At Sukho thai in Montreal Restaurant, our respect for the arts and crafts and cuisine of Thailand’s first capital runs deep.
Sukho thai, which literally means “Dawn of Happiness”, was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. Founded in 1238, it is now a designated world heritage site. Sukho thai is a historical landmark representing the ascendancy of the Thai people and their culture.
Sukho Thai is unique of its’ kind in Quebec, and Canada. it was an idea between four friends, who were seeking to revive Thai cuisine and its’ true spirit. From that idea, Sukho Thai was born, to recreate a gastronomical experience reminiscent of that era’s creative genius; who is acknowledged by historians as the zenith of Thai endeavor.
The restaurant has very graceful old Thai charm. It is decorated with magnificent art pieces; which enhance its’ elegance and true Thai ambiance. apart from the décor, whose authenticity speaks for it self, the food is untypical of other Thai restaurants in the area, as it is bursting with fresh herbs, spices and lemongrass invigorating to the senses. The ambiance is soothing with a cocktail of jazz tunes; and the service is worthy of a fine dining experience!
We invite you to dine at Sukho Thai to truly experience the glory of this old world heritage, and share our appreciation of Thai cuisine…
