The National Theatre School of Canada was first established in 1960 in Montreal. The National Theatre School of Canada is both French and English and specializes in various aspects of the performing arts and theatre. With just over 160 students, this school has very high standards when it comes to the Arts. It offers 10 programs of which 5 are offered in English; Acting, Directing, Playwriting, Set and Costume Design, and Technical Production, and the other 5 are offered in French; Ecriture dramatique, Interpretation, Mise en scene, Production, and Scenographie.
Entry standards are very high and an audition is required in order to be accepted, not only that but only a few select students are selected every year. Out of the last 1,100 students that applied only 53 were accepted. Mostly everyone who has graduated from this school has gone on to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
