From the Maritimes, and now based in Montreal, Ernie Coombs year is indie rock alternative band filled with catchy melodies and beats. With Keith Maclean (Lead vocals and guitarist), Denis Mazerolle (Guitarist and vocals), Nick Smith (Bassist, synth and vocals) and Phil Flag (drummer). French native of Moncton, New Brunswick, Ernie Coombs is a group of rock composed of four members, singer / guitarist (Keith Maclean), guitarist (Denis Mazerolle), drummer (Philip Flag) and finally, bassist / keyboardist (Nicholas Smith), the last member to join the group. Buddies for several years, they give birth to the project during their time in high school to come today to a sound that appeals to all members; a sound inspired by the tangent and especially by indie bands like that Modest Mouse, and Deerhoof. 2010 is a year of great importance to members of Ernie Coombs as they compose their first album Do you think it Would Fall on us, perform at festivals, bars and theaters in the Maritimes and finally decided to emigrate in a city that will allow them to be heard above all, to be recognized. Keith and Denis are the first to take the plunge and move to Montreal. The duo studied and worked in a field related to their passion and then see their drummer to join them in the great metropolis. Finally, it is still in Montreal as the trio made the acquaintance of the last missing link: their future bassist, Nicholas. That's when the big "fun" begins! Many shows are connected then: Montreal, Quebec, Ontario, and not forgetting their native region, the East. But it was in October 2011 that Ernie Coombs endisque their most meaningful achievement to date: their EP EPEC, a perfect blend of exuberant, bold and catchy songs. Being primarily a group tailor-made for the "live", the Acadian quartet achieved the feat of transposing this contagious energy in the studio, ensuring that EPEC embodies the same energy that drives the musicians during their live performances. In short, Ernie Coombs is a name to remember for those who love pure rock and original without fla fla or pretension.
