Montreal General Hospital (MGH) opened its doors in 1819 in Montreal and only housed a minimal amount of 24 beds as well as an out patient department. Montreal General Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in North America. MGH continues to maintain its outstanding history of dedication to diagnosis, treatment, teaching and research. Today, the Montreal General Hospital has roughly 380 beds, 320,000 visitors annually, and offers services in over 20 different languages. MGH also offers programs for internship positions in accordance with McGill University.
